One of our most important goals is to provide your children with a positive learning setting. This experience will help them develop self-confidence. The main goal is to provide a positive, opportunity-filled environment where they can become familiar with their potentials, limitations, and where they can develop willingness to attempt new and challenging tasks. This environment will build confidence and healthy self-image. We do this by creating a situation where there is constant encouragement through verbal praise, giving each child a feeling of continued success. Even the slightest attempt made by a child in the desired direction is rewarded.  For many children the attempt is the goal rather than the actual completed task. Therefore the prose given to them for their attempt to perform the task, rather then the actual completed task. This kind of verbal reassurance will increase your child’s self-confidence and enhance his/her self-image. This is one of the most important contributions that can be made during the formative years of growth and development in your child’s life.

The format of our program is a combination of general movement education and specific skills. Many of the elementary skills taught in our program are fundamental to the development of all sport-type activities. These skills are valuable aids in a child’s growth as he/she learns about the physical world surrounding them. The general movement education allows for plenty of movement exploration. This enables your child to discover movement possibilities and learn about his/her body. The child learns different body parts, how they move, and what the body can and can not do. The format also lends itself to your child’s social development. He/she learns to work in groups as well as improving individual growth. Social skills are an important part of a child’s development.

We hope this gives you a better understanding of the philosophies and goals of our  program and what we try to give your child every time he/she walks through the door.

Thank you for your patronage, loyalty and continued support.

Recreational gymnastics in a non-competitive environment

Dear Friends and valued customers:

Please allow me to introduce to you...First Flips Gymnastics! Our new venture is a revolutionary approach to recreational gymnastics fitness in a non-competitive environment. The focus of our new pre-school program and Progressive Skills classes, which will include the Recreational program, Tumbling, Gym Fitness and much more, will develop the child into the best person he/she can be without the pressure of competition or intensity to perform.

The purpose of our preschool program is to provide children, under the age of six, with productively positive experiences within a physical environment that is structured and stimulating. These learning experiences will help your child develop their physical and mental capabilities. They will learn skills that will enable them to better relate to the complete environment around them.

The purpose of our other programs are very similar in nature. Our goal is to grow with your child as they maneuver through their formative years and develop their own sense of independence and curiosity. The basic format of our programs is a combination of general movement education and specific skills. Many of the elementary skills taught in our programs are fundamental to the development of all sport-type activities thus enabling your child to take them with them and benefit from all their hard work. These skills are valuable aids in a child’s growth as he/she learns about the physical world surrounding them while promoting fun and fitness.
